This morning we started the day with an egg bake made with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and peppers! It was something a little different to switch up our usual breakfast routine and was served alongside bagels and cereal.
Today’s schedule looked a little different because it was TRACK MEET DAY!!! That meant no regularly scheduled classes, and after completing their camp duties, campers headed up to the A Field to kick off a morning full of competition and team spirit. Campers competed in the long jump, standing long jump, and softball throw before finishing the morning with an exciting 50-meter dash. The A Field was filled with cheering, encouragement, and plenty of awesome memories!
After the track meet, campers cooled off with our first and only morning general swim of the session! It was the perfect way to relax and cool down after a busy morning of competition.
For dinner, we had a true track meet classic: buttered noodles, ham, bread, and corn! For dessert, campers enjoyed a festive green and white cake to keep the team spirit going.
After dinner, campers settled in for rest hour before jumping back into the action. Following rest hour, some campers took part in a camp version of a “marathon,” racing down the camp road and showing off their speed and endurance!
Next up was the team triathlon! Green and White teams went head-to-head in a challenge that included running, canoeing, boating, and swimming. Campers cheered each other on as they raced to see which team could cross the finish line first!
After the team triathlon, the competition continued with swim races and an archery competition for campers who wanted to participate. There was no shortage of excitement as Green and White continued battling it out for team points!
Then it was time for supper! Tonight was Pick-Up, our camp version of leftovers, where campers could choose from some of their favorite dishes we’ve enjoyed over the past few days. With so many favorites to choose from, there was something for everyone!
We wrapped up another action-packed day with evening program: team relays! Green and White went head-to-head in a series of fun and fast-paced challenges, including hula hooping, a kickball relay, an obstacle course, and a soccer ball relay. The cheering, teamwork, and friendly competition made for the perfect way to end the day.
What an incredible day at Asto Wamah! From track meet events and team triathlons to races, relays, and plenty of cheering, today was packed with competition, teamwork, and memories that our campers will be talking about for a long time. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
