This morning, campers woke up to a camp classic: waffles with peanut butter! It was the perfect way to start our Saturday at Asto Wamah!
After breakfast, we switched things up from our usual cabin cleaning routine because, believe it or not, we are already halfway through the session! That means it was time to switch bunks! Campers who had been sleeping on the bottom bunk got the chance to move to the top, and vice versa.
After everyone found their new sleeping spots and finished their camp duties, it was time to head off to classes! Campers enjoyed all of their usual favorites today, including boating, swimming, arts & crafts, and sports.
For dinner, we had chicken parmesan with spaghetti and Caesar salad — a delicious camp favorite!
After dinner, campers headed back to their cabins for rest hour. Once rest hour was over, it was time for general swim! With another hot day at Asto Wamah, a swim was definitely needed, and campers were more than happy to cool off in the water.
After fourth period, campers headed to activity period, where lots of campers took advantage of the beautiful weather and jumped into swim aerobics! This activity hasn’t been offered at Asto Wamah in quite some time, but campers absolutely loved it. With so many campers joining in and having a great time, we have a feeling swim aerobics will be making a much more frequent appearance this session!
For supper, it was eat-out night! With our cooks away, campers enjoyed hot dogs, chips, pickles, and bug juice. Everyone got to sit around camp with their friends and enjoy their meal together, the perfect way to spend a summer evening!
To finish off the night, we had another camp classic: Pirates! Campers dressed in all black and headed out with their friends to search around camp for the hidden buried treasure. There were plenty of adventures, teamwork, and pirate fun along the way!
Another amazing day here at Asto Wamah! We can’t believe we are already halfway through the session, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings!
