We woke up to another beautiful, sunny morning! Following chicken fat, we enjoyed waffles and peanut butter for breakfast. Campers then headed off to their cabins to clean up and get ready for Track Meet!
Instead of morning classes, campers participated in several individual events: standing long jump, running long jump, softball throw, 50-yard dash, and the mid-distance race. Campers wore green or white clothing to represent their team and some of them even had face paint! Campers did a great job competing in events and cheering for their teammates! There were some exciting races!
For dinner, we had our traditional Sunday meal, including ham, noodles, and corn, and green and white cake for dessert. Campers definitely needed rest during Rest Hour given the busy morning schedule. After Rest Hour, campers had one more optional individual event: the Marathon (about a half mile). Campers who elected to participate started at the A-Field, ran down Corduroy Road, and then Camp Road - the finish line is the washstand at Cabin 5. They did a great job!
Next, we had our team relay, which includes runners, swimmers, boaters, and canoers. The race ends with an intense swim competition between our superstar seniors - it was awesome!
Afterwards, we held swim races and an archery competition. The last of the Track Meet events took place after supper. The team events went well! Campers had to work together to accomplish challenges.
We are all looking forward to a good night’s sleep after our fun day!
