Happy Banquet!!
Today breakfast was English muffins and cereal. One of the options for English muffin topping was cinnamon butter and it was a huge hit as always. It was a rainy morning, with swimming, sports and boating taking place inside.
Lunch was sandwiches today, with options including egg salad, tuna salad, and peanut butter and jelly. Campers could choose either peaches or pears for dessert.
After rest hour, the sun began to peak out from the clouds and we were able to get back to a more normal schedule. We had an optional general swim, where campers could choose to either go into the water or play games in the flagpole area. Fourth period went smoothly and campers were busy during activity period. Many took out rowboats with friends, went fishing, or worked on friendship bracelets.
Then, everyone got dressed in green and white clothes for Banquet! Banquet is our big Thanksgiving dinner that includes turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn and bread! We also enjoyed chocolate chip cookie dough and moose tracks ice cream for dessert!
After the meal ended, we stayed in the lodge to sing songs, watch the slide show of pictures from the session and do year awards, where campers get their year awards, and the LTs get their clipboards for if they work on staff! This year’s slideshow even included pictures from when the staff were campers, which the campers loved to see!
We ended the night with a candle light reading. This gives campers and counselors alike an opportunity to reflect on the session and our time here at camp. We stood around the flagpole the way we do before breakfast and supper for the candle light service tonight. It was a great way to begin to wrap up a great session.
I can’t believe the session is almost done but we’re all looking forward to an amazing last full day tomorrow!
Logging off from the lodge,
Kyleigh
