Today was Banquet!!
We started the morning with English muffins and cinnamon butter for breakfast before heading off to our usual classes.
It was an exciting day for many of our campers, as they found out whether they passed their boating or swimming levels. We are so proud of everyone for all of the hard work they have put in this session!
For dinner, we had one of our favorite Banquet traditions: egg salad, tuna salad, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with chips. Dessert was peaches and pears!
Then it was time for the best part of the day: Banquet supper! Campers dressed in green and white, as is our long-standing Banquet tradition, and gathered in the lodge for a special dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and corn. We finished the meal with ice cream, of course!
After supper, campers gathered together to sing some of our favorite camp songs. We ended the night with one of the most beautiful Banquet traditions of all: singing Amazing Grace as we made our way down to the lake and placed candles in the water. Seeing the lake lit up with candles while everyone gathered together was such a special and beautiful moment.
It was truly an amazing way to finish the evening and celebrate another wonderful session at Asto Wamah. With only less than 48 hours left of camp, we are trying to soak up every last moment, cherish our time together, and make the most of these final days. We can’t believe how quickly the session has gone by!
