Good morning from the lake!
Today started out a bit warmer which is what we needed after these past few chilly days! We had lemon bread for breakfast and then went back to change and get ready for the morning.
In morning classes, swimmers continued swimming and boaters continued to work on their skills. Up on the A-field everyone enjoyed their second to last day of sports. It had been a great session with lots of great weather for basketball, soccer, tennis and archery too!
As a traditional pre banquet dinner we had sandwiches. Tuna salad, egg salad, PB and J and delicious sides were all enjoyed at our noon time meal. They were delectable and were enjoyed by everyone. We had an extended rest hour today which gave everyone a much needed rest. After general swim we had 4th period. It was super windy today so it was a great time for boaters to demonstrated their proficiency in boating and canoeing in windy weather.
We had lots of tower jumpers for activity period today! Since swimming has been testing the past few days, a few swimmers that just passed into level 4 got to jump off the tower today. It was super exciting and perfect timing in case we get some storms tomorrow.
Afterwards, the LTs and Cookees went to set the tables for banquet and we all gathered to start the meal. The food is Thanksgiving style with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and more. The kitchen staff and cook did an amazing job making this meal, and every meal, and we are all very thankful for their hard work! Later we had ice cream for dessert, campers got to choose between cookie dough and cookies and cream, both amazing options.
Banquet celebrations were our evening program today. We celebrated all the campers by giving them their year awards for the number of years they’ve been at camp. Then we watched a slideshow of all of the pictures from the session, from talent night to track meet to classes, there were so many great moments.
It was a bit windy tonight so we did not get to have our candlelight service outside but we still reflected on our two weeks here inside the lodge. Throughout the night we sang songs and we finished with Amazing Grace as each camper and staff received a candle. As we lit each candle and reflected on the night it signifies the end of our night. We blew out the candles, sang goodnight songs and headed to bed silently.
I cannot believe tomorrow is our last full day here!
With love from Wamah,
