First Full Day of Camp!

Campers and staff woke up to a beautiful sunny morning today. For breakfast, we enjoyed waffles and fruit. Many campers decided to put peanut butter on their waffles, which is a camp favorite!

Our first day of classes went well. The lake was cool and a refreshing break from the heat. Campers were introduced to their swimming and boating instructors, and started arts and crafts projects as well. During sports class, campers learned names while playing Nuk’em.

After morning classes, we had meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans with pears for dessert. The campers then selected candy to enjoy during Rest Hour, and then we had General Swim. We were lucky enough to participate in General Swim on Sunday afternoon after swim classification tests for new campers, so instead of listening to rules today, we were able to get right into the water.

During Activity Period, many campers took advantage of fishing off the docks - we have a lot of avid fishermen! Campers also enjoyed other activities, including jumping off the tower, playing Gaga ball, and playing basketball on the A-Field.

For supper, we had grilled cheese with tomato soup. Campers had quite an appetite after our busy day!

Our Evening Program was Capture the Flag - we had so much fun! Several campers successfully captured the opponents’ flag, making for a competitive game! Afterwards, campers enjoyed a quick dip in the lake to cool down before bed.

Until tomorrow!
